TR inserts are recommended for thermoplastic applications. Their geometric shape and sharp pointed barbs eliminates any danger of the moulded bosses splitting on installation or when tightening of the mating screw occurs. The wall thickness of bosses should generally be at least one half of the insert diameter.
Different materials may require slight modifications to the hole dimensions stated above and it is essential that the hole depth is sufficient to allow the screw to pass completely through the insert to achieve optimum performance.
