TF Stud Hi Torque Countersunk Head closed end blind Rivet Studs are manufactured as turned parts to ensure the accuracy of the concentricity between the outer diameter of the body and the inner wall of the counter bore. Only by accurate machining can the wall remain a constant thickness around the circumference, ensuring that when the products are set, the wall collapses uniformly keeping the thread forms perpendicular to the sheet. This ensures that the threads will not become crossed on installation of the mating nut due to misalignment, and that located components are carried perpendicular to the sheet. The other advantage gained by turning the rivet stud shell is that a highly effective knurl can be produced on the outside of the body where the clinch takes effect with the sheet. Not only does this mean that the knurl engages the back of the sheet to improve torque resistance performance the knurl also swells to grip the walls of the hole during installation, again improving torque resistance and increasing surface area contact. These products are manufactured in various head and body formats see following part Nos. Hi Torque Rivet Nuts are available in Carbon Steel Zinc plated and Yellow passivated, Code 40 and in Stainless Steel, Code SS.
